Located a few steps from Lungarno Pacinotti and Piazza dei Cavalieri, the "Edda Bresciani" Egyptological Collections of the University of Pisa represent a reference point for scholars and enthusiasts of archaeology and ancient Egyptian history due to the importance of their artifacts, especially those from the ancient Nubia area, largely the result of excavations carried out under the patronage of the University of Pisa.

Overlooking Lungarno Galilei and housed in the rooms of the sixteenth-century Palazzo Lanfranchi, the Museum of Graphic Art of the University of Pisa is one of the most important public collections of contemporary graphic art with over 3,000 works that are periodically displayed in temporary exhibitions organized throughout the year.

The Museum presents the artistic history of Pisa, fully integrated into a European and Mediterranean context, with works from the 12th to 17th centuries by Pisan, Tuscan, and other artists created primarily for churches and convents in the city. It displays one of the most important collections of medieval art, as well as archaeological artifacts, ceramic basins of Islamic manufacture, illuminated manuscripts, and a rich numismatic series. Also of enormous importance are works by the principal masters of the fifteenth century, from Gentile da Fabriano to Beato Angelico, from Masaccio to Donatello.

The Certosa rises on the Pisan hills. Founded in 1366 as a monastery of the Order of Saint Bruno, it owes its current grandiose appearance, with frescoes, stuccos, and furnishings, to seventeenth- and eighteenth-century transformations that nevertheless maintain the internal divisions functional to the Carthusian rule. It stands as one of the major examples of Baroque architecture in Tuscany. In the sacristy is displayed the Atlantic Bible, an extraordinary illuminated manuscript in four volumes dated 1168.

Inside the Medici Arsenals overlooking the Lungarni are displayed Roman-era ships with their artifacts discovered in 1998 during expansion work at San Rossore railway station. Seven vessels, dating from the 3rd century BC to the 7th century AD, and approximately 8,000 objects tell the story of a millennium of trade and sailors, routes and shipwrecks, navigation, life on board, and the history of the city of Pisa.

A few steps from Piazza del Duomo, the Botanical Garden and Museum of the University of Pisa, the first university botanical garden by foundation, in its approximately two hectares, hosts plants from five continents, succulents from African and American deserts, aromatic plants of the Mediterranean scrubland, species from Tuscan marshes, numerous centuries-old trees, and many other botanical species.
